There were treats a-plenty at the Dune & Bertie S/S 11’ press day, and that was before I had even sampled the amazing Cake Pops from the Pop Bakery (www.popbakery.co.uk).
Dune had a selection of pretty lady like courts in pastel hues and bright summer shades, inspired by the 50’s and icons such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn.
Embellishment was key in the new collection that makes for perfect evening shoes. In colours of bronze and gold and high-impact crystals, these shoes are sure to make a statement.
Move over to Bertie however, and it is very much about being at one with nature as displayed in the beautiful set up of fresh flowers, liberty prints and home-knit blankets. Inspired by all things organic, with a quirky seventies twist. There are chunky stacked heels. Clog mules, brogues and tribal sandals with details of ribbon, contrast stitching and my favourite the tapestry shoe.
There is also the very exciting collaboration between Dune and designer Olivia Rubin who was present for the day looked very relaxed and pleased with the reception the collection received. There are 12 shoe designs along with accessories in beautiful bright multi-coloured prints, Rubin’s signature style.
Bring on Summer already!!
