Vivienne Westwood Palladium Party

So London Fashion Week has finally been wrapped up and most of the Fashion elite are now in Milan for the next round of shows for the following season.
However, London, it seems has had a good start, praised for its fun factor, and who better to kick off the celebrations last Friday than Dame Vivienne Westwood.

Westwood held a party at The Wallace Collection, to preview her collaboration with the new precious metal Palladium. The 'Get A Life' collection was "Nature and pagan inspired" said Vivienne, who is very passionate about preserving and recycling, "Jewellery has nothing to do with Get a Life. Get a Life is about how we stop climate change and therefore preserve life for the next generation while at that same time get a better life. My focus at the moment is what one person can do. Stop climate change. Save the planet. The acorn is symbolic of the rainforest, its importance and how it is our first duty to save it."

Olivia Palermo was one of the first to arrive (Is there a LFW party that girl hasn't been to) followed by a host of other guests that included,  Jo Wood, Lily Cole, Mr.Hudson, Plan B, chef Gizzi Erskine, several of the stunning Burberry models, and strangely Diana Vickers who looked like she had had a few too many! After walking round the regal surroundings (one of Vivienne's favourite galleries) and viewing the jewellery collection, guests were treated to an amazing live performance by Brit Winner and girl of the moment Jessie J (Have to big up my fellow Essex girls). Jessie did beautiful acoustic versions of her hits Price Tag and Do It Like A Dude.

Fab Start to Fashion Week, and Jessie J sums up perfectly what is great about London (&Essex)

The Encased Jewellery Collection

Overheard: Jo Wood telling everyone she was wearing vintage 80's Herve Leger!

Overheard: Mr.Hudson talking about his third album coming out shortly, how he has done something slightly different and hoping that people will like it!

'Snapped' at the National Portrait Gallery

Friday night saw the Fashion crowd pour in to the National Portrait Gallery for the Late Shift tour of Snapped: A celebration of fashion, beauty and diversity. The event was curated in partnership with All Walks Beyond the Catwalk's Erin O'Connor and Caryn Franklin, who posed the question: 'Has fashion become the lens through which we evaluate identity?' Which was heavily debated on the night by model Erin and Elle magazine editor Lorraine Candy.
Tickets to see the talk sold out in record time and unfortunately we were one of the unlucky ones, however there was still lots to see and do. There diverse portraits by Rankin dotted around whilst the models who posed for them mingled with the crowd.
Female DJ's the Work It Girls were there to get everyone in the mood for Friday night as they played some of our favourite tracks by Jay-Z, Missy Elliot, Pharrell and People Everyday. (We LOVE a bit of old school hip-hop) as we were treated to a special secret recipe 'Fashion Fix Cocktail' that just tasted of Summer, and Fashion Photographer Alistair Guy was there shooting those who had been 'spotted' on the night to be featured in i-D online.

As well as all the special events taking place, we also had free reign to explore the rest of the gallery. Frankie was happy to stumble across drawings by Illustrator Michael Langley exclaiming "This is right up my street"
Whilst I want the portrait of Anna Wintour by Alex Katz (2009) on my living room wall.

However the one that shocked us most, was the 'Head of Isabella Blow' by Tim Noble and Sue Webster, a mix of a crow, a mouse, a shoe and other everyday objects that when the spotlight shined, the shadow reflected the outline shape of Blows face.

It was a great night, and the late shift tours are the perfect time to visit, it's a great idea holding events for people to socialise and see the gallery too as we know for sure, you don't always get the time to visit as often as you should.

Bubble-butted, Grapefurit-titted, Bloated-mouthed, Cyber-bitches!

'Women have turned themselves into these bubble-butted, grapefruit-titted, bloated mouthed cyberbitches. I'm just not into that'

I came across this Tom Ford quote from January's issue of Harpers Bazaar and not only did  I find myself totally agreeing with him, it made me laugh out loud too. It reminded me of how great his work really is.
I always have loved his advertising campaigns, even though they are a little sexist, yet I think the women in them always look powerful, in-control and bloody amazing!!!

Here are a few reminders why;
