Going La La For Lashes

It was a miserable rainy Tuesday night last night but that wasn't going to stop the grand opening of the Lash Bar being any less fabulous, as members of press and beauty experts gathered, sipping on Kir Royale champagne cocktails to celebrate the first salon of its kind.
The salon is the brain child of the UK's leading eyelash experts Lash Perfect, based in the heart of the West End, the exclusive Lash Bar is situated just off Carnaby Street.
35 Marshall Street
London
W1F 7EX
Alongside the boutiques and coffee houses of Soho, it is the perfect indulgence for any girl-about-town. Stepping in to the Lash Bar is like stepping in to a sea of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the busy area. Inside you are greeted by the friendly and professional staff, who then lead you in to the boudoir treatment rooms. Colours of aqua marine and luxurious textures provide a comfortable and exclusive environment, perfect for the high profile and celebrity clients who regularly drop in.

A UK market leader within the semi-permanent eyelash extension industry Lash Perfect offer a wide range of innovative treatments, however the Lash Bar does not just specialise in lashes, they also offer a range of  other pampering eye treatments, from the adored La La Lashes strip extensions which can be bought and applied in store, to full Eye Works treatment which includes a massage, mask, brow definition and a full set of Lash Perfect extensions. So good it will be sure to get you into a flutter.

My personal favourite has got to be the Paperself lashes, a more adventurous look, the lashes are creatively cut designs made from an elegant paper material, there are styles such as 'Under the Sea' 'Deer and Butterfly' and 'Peacocks'.

A wonderful evening was had by all, as they were advised and guided to which lashes to choose for them, and even got a goody bag complete with a set of La La Lashes and a yummy cupcake (made by me, may I add).
Good luck to all the girls at the Lash Bar on your first opening week.... It's a must see for everyone to check out.

Ibiza Wish List

Ever since visiting Ibiza twice over the Summer back in 2008, I have been longing to go back, and today I have finally booked to go back to the White Isle.
For anyone who has never been, I cant recommend it enough, even if partying til' dawn isn't your thing.
With just over a month to go, I should really start working on a bikini body.... but get important things out the way first... THE CLOTHES!!

Here is my Ibiza wish list:

Loose vests - Ibiza uniform

I do love an American Apparel bodycon dress.

Can't go wrong with this beautiful maxi from Topshop

This Crochet dress, also from Topshop will get me through festival season too.

Adore aztec print for the beach.

All about stacking up bracelets, ones that are versatile for the beach and pool... just watch out for tan lines.

Vintage tops so you have something different from the rest.

I must have this  H&M tropical banana print bikini

This hat.... sipping on a Mojito at Cafe Del Mar watching the Sunset... PERFECT!!

Love a logo tee...

Feathers are everywhere, so many different styles to choose from, but these earings and head dress both from 'bitchin & junkfood' are just the best. Also perfect for the festivals... as seen as Coachella earlier this year.

Im determined to have a go at goth, inspired by Lady Gaga's new album 'Born This Way'

Thee Wedding

Unless you have been living on a totally different planet for the last six months, then you may not of heard about just some small wedding that took place in London today...

Oh who am I kidding... I had Royal Wedding Fever and I had it bad. From when the engagement was announced to when the shops started stocking everything in Union Jack print, I have been looking forward to this day for months (even if I was a bit disappointed when my invite didn't arrive in the post) and have spent weeks perfecting my Royal Wedding Cupcakes.

I couldn't sleep last night for excitement, so cant imagine what Kate herself must of been feeling, but today finally dawned and what a day it was.

We celebrated by having a Champagne breakfast, complete with Strawberries, Crossaints and Smoked Salmon canapes, whilst watching everyone make their way to Westminster Abbey in their finery.

Gasping with oooh's and ahhh's I enjoyed watching a part of history, before heading off the a Street Party for celebrations, cake competitions, games and Pimm's of course!

But now for the important part... The Dresses.
Twitter was alive with reports last night that it was a positive certainty the dress was Alexander McQueen after Sarah Burton was seen entering The Goring Hotel at which Kate was staying in on her last night as a single woman.
What a beautiful dress it was, simple but detailed with the lace long sleeves, it fitted her frame perfectly, people may have been expecting something more flamboyant but I think Kate was wise and stuck to what she knew, and knows suits her. It looked classic and just perfect. The evening dress was also designed by Sarah Burton and was a simple bustier dress teamed with a bolero, and her now famous luscious shiny hair down with a loose wave.
Sarah Burton has spoken out, in which she says will be her only interview on the dress saying "It has been the experience of a lifetime" Read the full statement here

As for the Bridesmaids, Pippa Middleton, Kate's sister (also in McQueen) looked stunning, and kept many male watchers interested. "Pippa Middleton...SORT" was one text I received. Harry even looked smitten, and it's not hard to see why.

As for the guests, there was some good, some bad and then the ugly.

Good - The Beckhams
Victoria and David arrived looking gorgeous, pregnant Victoria was in one of her own dresses from her A/W 11' collection, a midnight blue tunic dress, platform Louboutins, a Phillip Treacy hat and a sleek ponytail. David looked his usual stylish self in a Ralph Lauren morning suit, complete with a Top Hat that was rumoured he was avoiding wearing so he didn't get 'hat hair' (Oh Becks, we love you) and of course, his OBE.

Bad - Tara Palmer Tomkinson

After all the effort she went to getting a new nose for the wedding, I thought Tara would of done better. It's not that I don't like her outfit, I am just unsure. The colour, cobalt blue, was stunning, and she showed off her slim figure fantastically, and the hat looked great too (Note: Centre parting hat = New Trend) but the gloves just looked too much, and she shoes almost on the cheap side.

The Ugly - The Princesses Beatrice and Eugene
No No No, Oh girls... What went wrong? Have you never watched Gok Wan? Eugene I'm talking to you!
Beatrice, looked ok, in a beige Valentino Haute Couture dress and matching coat, but her hat was a bit O.T.T and some have said is wrong for her face shape.
Then there is her younger sister Eugene, in a Vivenne Westwood (marks for wearing a British Designer) but the mixed colours of green and blue looked ghastly and the shape does absolutely nothing for her figure.
Sorry girls.

All in all, a truly fabulous and beautiful event. No one can hate on them, they're just a young normal couple who are obviously very much in love. What a reason to celebrate. It makes you proud to feel British. Congratulations Catherine and William.

Coachellaaaaa...

Coachella Arts & Music festival took place this past weekend in the Californian dessert, and from reports it was bigger and better than ever, probably one of the most celeb filled and fashion focussed festivals with Rhianna, Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth, Whitney Port and Diane Kruger just some of the attendee's. The star's didn't disappoint in giving festival season a stylish kick off.

Even Mulberry held a pool party in the nearby Palm Spring's Parker Hotel, where Nicole Richie, Alexa and Eliza Doolittle were all invited for a barbecue and to sip on Mojito's (Probably three of my most favourite things...ever)

Going to a festival this year? Then think 70's. There were many at Coachella who looked like they had just stepped out of Woodstock. Expect Crochet, Lace, Maxi skirts, and Suede, not forgetting denim cut off's, preferably short short's. If you like me, are a fan of hats ( they do wonders covering up dirty festival hair) then go for a masculine fedora or  trilby.

Now we can only hope for the CA weather in Britain.... otherwise it's back to Hunters and Barbour's.

Sunday Morning Cupcake Class...

Yesterday morning I attended a local cupcake decorating course, which was so much fun. As I have been teaching myself I was looking forward to being taught by a professional, and I wasn't disappointed.

We learnt how to make rose and lilly shape flowers from chocolate fondant and sugar paste, as well as cutting out other shapes too. I was really pleased with the class and can't wait to practice some more.

Baking Beauty

I like to think of myself as quite a good cook, and often hold dinner parties testing out my culinary skills on my poor awaiting friends, (none of which have died or become ill... yet)

However the one thing I have really been making a go of is Cupcakes. Even though I don't eat them myself  because of my hatred for butter, but it doesn't stop me from cooking batch upon batch, and thinking of new decorative ideas each time.

Being self-taught I still need lots of practice, so have signed up for a course this Sunday which I am very much looking forward to.

Here are some designs I have created so far;

Being fully aware of how quickly trends pass, even if in the food world, I have also been practicing Macaroons... Will upload some photos soon!

Working Girl...

So I haven't blogged for a while, mainly because of the endless job applications and interviews that have consumed my days for nearly a year now, but I finally have a paid job after the numerous internships (something of a fashion industry norm now, or just another word for slave labour).

My new role is not something I thought I would end up doing when I left Uni last May, but it does cover everything I love to do.
I am working for an Essex based boutique who are about to launch online, and will be working on everything from styling the looks to be photographed for the website as well as all the PR and social networking stuff... Something that an organised to almost OCD levels girl like me excels in.
So far I have completed my e-commerce website training, which was in Cheltenham (lovely town). Now we are waiting for the web-desginers to hand it back to us once completed before the hard work starts.

So in mean time I am busy looking for a dress for our launch party....
